According to the Workers Compensation Act and the Occupational Health and Safety Regulation in BC, it’s the employer’s responsibility to develop and implement an occupational health and safety (OHS) program to prevent employee workplace injury and disease. OHS safety programs in British Columbia must meet certain safety standards. The employer must exercise due diligence in taking steps to meet those standards.
